Randolph Lee, a virtuoso trumpeter acclaimed by the American Record Guide and the International Trumpet Journal, has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. Currently an Associate Professor of Trumpet at Brigham Young University (BYU), his alma mater, Randy is also a soloist, recording artist, and member of various ensembles, including BYU Brassworks, the Orchestra at Temple Square with the Tabernacle Choir, Naples Brass, and the duo Tremura | Lee. His latest solo album, “Echoes of Zion,” showcases early LDS Pioneer Brass traditions and is available on Mark Records. Randy’s recordings can also be found on Deutsche Grammophon, Centaur Records, and Tantara Records.
Randy has premiered and recorded new trumpet solo literature, presenting guest artist recitals globally. His repertoire includes works by Anthony Maglione, James Oliverio, Ian Coleman, and Mauricio Arias. He has performed with renowned ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and the Utah Symphony, as well as with popular acts like Johnny Mathis and The Temptations. Dr. Lee holds degrees from BYU, UCLA, and Arizona State University, studying under prominent teachers like David Brown and Jens Lindemann. Beyond his musical pursuits, Randy enjoys family time, traveling, and playing disc golf.
