Associate Professor

Biography

Carles is a trumpet professor with a diverse educational background across Europe. He began his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music “José Iturbi” in Valencia and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Trumpet Performance from the Conservatory of Music of Aragón (Spain).

He pursued two Master’s degrees, in Trumpet Performance and Soloist Performance, at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus (Denmark), and later completed trumpet Complementary Studies at the Musik-Akademie Basel (Switzerland). Carles also holds a Master’s in Musical Research from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) and is currently a PhD candidate at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), where his research focuses on trumpet pedagogy and new technologies.

As a performer, Carles is a member of Terra Brass in Valencia and Airaz, a quintet formed by faculty from Huesca conservatories. He regularly collaborates with the Rivas “Alma Mahler” Symphony Orchestra (OSRAM) and has performed with groups such as the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, and Neues Orchester Basel.

His online project, “La Trompeta Sonará”, shares his work in trumpet pedagogy with students around the world, combining traditional and modern methods of teaching.
